II.     Application details

General Steps for university coordinators:

Each of our partner university is assigned with only one coordinator as the nominator for the agreements, for example: exchange student agreement for one particular nominator, dual degree agreement for another nominator; two agreement can also be assigned to the same nominator. If there is more than one nominator please kindly inform us via the email at qfoffice01@nkust.edu.tw.

Please use the link in the email we send to you to log into Online Nomination page and place your nomination. The account will be your email without the password for the first time log in. After the first time log in, you could set your own password for the multiple log-in regarding to the future semesters nomination use. Nomination System: http://oia01.nkust.edu.tw/sisteruniv

The nominated students will receive an email with registration link after our International Office has verified the nomination.

Please note that this service is only available during the nomination/application period.

General Steps for students:

Step 1. Nomination:Your home university coordinators fill in the online nomination.

Step 2. Online Application:Students receives a notification email for Online Application and must fill in the required information after being nominated.

Step 3. NKUST Review:After students complete the application and upload the required documents. NKUST departments and the Office of International Affairs (OIA) will begin reviewing the applications.

Step 4. Result Announcement: After the review process is completed, the results will be announced via the online system; students are advised to log in to their accounts to check it.

Step 5. Download the Letter of Acceptance: If students are accepted and pass the application reviewing, they will have to fill in the final check for registration anddownload the Letter of Acceptance on students’ own application result page.

Step 6. Submission of Post-Acceptance Documents: After completing Step5, students should complete the insurance and fight information on the Result page.

III.Requirement Documents to upload to Online Application System

  • Study Plan (download the example file form the “Documents Upload” section of the online system)
  • English/Chinese Language Certificate (if not a native speaker)

 

IV.  Course Information

Languages of instruction

English and Chinese

Courses available to Exchange Students

Exchange students are required to select at least 1 course offered by the department they are applying to, and must independently confirm with their home university whether the courses can be credited.

Courses taught in English

Due to the 2025 Spring semester final scheduled English courses will be released in the early January, we provide the former English course lists from the PAST TWO YEARS as a reference.

Mandarin Learning Course for exchange students

Mandarin Learning Course at different levels are offered every semester. (Free of charge for exchange students)

 

V.      Accommodation Information

  • Exchange students are eligible to apply for on-campus accommodation at the campus where their department is located. They are required to submit their dormitory application online, with the application date to be announced after acceptance.
  • Bedding is not provided; students are required to bring their own, including a mattress, pillow, quilt, and personal toiletries.
  • Air conditioning in campus dormitories is charged separately, with residents required to purchase air conditioning cards to cover electricity costs.
  • Dormitory fees must be paid before the start of the semester by downloading the payment slip from the student portal.

VI.  Insurance and Health Check

Group Medical Insurance

Exchange students are required to purchase the Group Medical Insurance (NT$3,000). Alternatively, students may obtain medical insurance in their home country and submit proof of coverage upon arrival. The period of insurance should cover the date of your arrival until the date you leave.

Student Group Insurance (Coverage limited to accidents)

Exchange students are required to purchase the Student Group Insurance. The cost is proximately NT$455 per semester and will be included in the tuition payment.

Health Check Requirements for Short-Term Exchange Students

1.          Proof of Positive Measles and Rubella Antibody or Measles and Rubella Vaccination Certificates.

2.          Chest X-ray for tuberculosis screening.

VII.              Facility Fees

The facility fees include Computer Network usage fee which cost NTD 200~300 per semester.

VIII.         Reminder

  • Fortheactualamountof payment pleaserefertothepaymentslipissuedbytheNKUST.
  • Students who already have a Chinese name are required to provide it at the time of application. Those who do not will have a name assigned by NKUST, which cannot be changed after it has been assigned. If you have a preferred Chinese name, please be sure to provide it.
